Angarika Chaturthi is also a Sankashti Chaturthi, Which is celebrated on Thursday. Snakashti chaturhi is observed on krishna paksha chaturthi day. Angarika Chaturthi is considered more auspicious to perform Puja to Lord Ganesha. We Have angarika Chaturthi on 1st January 2013 i.e on New Year Day.
As per North Indian Purnimant calenders This Angarika Chturthi is celbrated in Hindu lunar month of Poush. According to Amavasyant calenders it falls in the month of Margashira. Amavasyant calenders fallowed in Orissa, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil nadu and other south Indian states.
As it is coinciding with the new yesr day, This angarika chaturthi is celebrated in a grand manner. Ganesha shodashopachara puja is performed during this day. Devotees observe fast till the moon rise during this day.
