Sankashti Chaturthi fast is observed on the Kirshna paksha Chaturthi day of each Hindu lunar month i.e fourth day of waning moon period. This vrat is dedicated to God Ganesha. God Ganesha is the son of Lord Shiva and Godess Parvati. If Sankashti falls on Tuesday, it is considered more auspicious and called Angarika Chaturthi.
